Ivan Reitman will return as director. The cast consisting of Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and Bill Hader (??) will be starring in this, the third in the ever popular Ghostbusters franchise which is more than long overdue.

Scary Movie 5

It seems like 2012 will be the year of rebooting old franchises. The Scary Movie franchise has never been the most artistic or most intelligent franchise ever made, but the fun thing about Scary Movie is that people will be talking about this for months. Still in early pre-production, but it could be slated for a late 2012 release, with only David Zucker tagged with a directing credit so far.

Men In Black 3

The theme of rebooting continues in this, the third Men In Black film. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones return as the ever hilarious Men In Black, fighting bizarre aliens and zapping people with an Alzheimer’s stick! This could only be great. A must see blockbuster, slated for a US summer release.

The Dark Knight Rises

The ever popular and emotionally artistic franchise of Batman continues in the third foray with Christopher Nolan (Inception, Memento) at the helm. This is one of the most prolific franchises ever made, seeing that the new Batman films are more about quality than quantity. This is on my MUST-SEE list of 2012.

World War Z

Slated for a 12 December 2012 release (close to the end of the world?). Brad Pitt fighting zombies in (supposedly) 3D? This sounds almost too good to be true! Super excitement.
